Manchester United line up David de Gea replacement with World Cup star on radar
KEYLOR NAVAS is being lined up as a successor to David de Gea at Manchester United, according to reports in Spain.
De
Gea has been linked with a move to Madrid all summer and the latest
deal in the offing involves the Spanish giants' own stopper moving in
the opposite direction.
Marca claim Louis van Gaal is keen on the deal after the Costa Rican's starring role at the 2014 World Cup.
Despite
Iker Casillas being close to a move to Porto, Navas is not thought of
as a long-term option and the ten-time European champions are desperate
to make De Gea their No.1 keeper.
However, United's stance until now has been clear. They are adamant that their Spanish star won't leave for anything less than £35million.
Keylor Navas could he headed for the Real Madrid exit doorA
swap deal involving Sergio Ramos moving to Old Trafford has also been
mooted, with the Spain defender thought to be Van Gaal's primary summer
transfer target.
But signing a goalkeeper could be priority and Navas, 28, could fit the bill.
33-year-old
Victor Valdes remains an option as first-choice between the sticks but
the Red Devils boss is understood to be in the market for another
stopper to compete for the role.
