Renewed Boko Haram attacks

The renewed Boko Haram insurgency particularly in Borno and Yobe states is not acceptable. Shortly before the last elections the Nigerian Army and its allies appeared to be winning the war against the insurgents. Many lost territories were recaptured with resounding applause from all Nigerians. Regrettably, recent incessant attacks on innocent citizens in Borno and Yobe states by Boko Haram have marked a sad turn in the struggle to free the country from the menace of terrorism. During the campaigns President Muhammadu Buhari promised to hit the ground running in the fight against the insurgents. Yes, he did by embarking on journeys to neighbouring countries to seek further help. The President also relocated the Nigerian Army command to Maiduguri. But the big question is: Where are the soldiers who pushed Boko Haram out before the polls?
