Meet Shemika Charles, a world record-holding limbo queen and Guiness World Record holder!

The
22-year-old girl has just broken a world record by becoming the first
person to ever limbo under a car. Shemika entered the record books in
2010 when she limboed down to an incredible 21,59 centimeters. She
trains six hours a day to keep her body in good shape and now travels
around the Unites States performing with her family.
Before setting a new world record the girl said: “I’m
just so emotional about getting underneath it. The clearance is around
22.86 centimeters but certain parts are lower than others so it took a
lot of concentration and controlled breathing. I want to do it again.

I
began my limbo career at the age of fourteen and I immediately
recognised that I had a unique talent. I know that it’s dangerous but
I’m in really good shape and I have no intention of stopping. I love to
limbo and I love to see the looks on people’s faces when I get down low –
it looks impossible so they’re always really surprised.”

Medical
professionals are amazed by her flexibility they do worry for her
health, they say that the most people would suffer serious injuries to
their hips and back if they attempted the same stunts. However, doctors
as well as Shemika’s parents worry for her health and she has to
visit her chiropractor once a week to have her hips realigned and her
back examined.
