LUCIANO VIETTO has signed for Atletico Madrid, according to Villarreal's president.
The 21-year-old Argentina striker, who was tracked by Arsenal and Liverpool, will be part of Diego Simeone's squad next season.
Villarreal president Fernando Roig said: "He (Vietto) has been sold to Atletico."
Atletico boss Simeone believes he is like the club's former striker David Villa.
“Tactically [Vietto’s] very clever and doesn’t need a goal to be a goalscorer,” he told TyC Sports.
“I see him very similar to David Villa, although with not so many goals, but still able to work hard for the team, play between the lines and link the midfield and attack.”
