Franck Ribery won the European player of the year award for the 2012/2013 season
Like the Dutchman, Ribery plays on the left side as an inverted winger despite being right footed, and often looks to come infield to unleash one of his thunderbolt shots into either corner.
3) Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Hazard believes that there is just no other player in the world like the Swedish superstar.

2) Lionel Messi
Described by Hazard as an ‘extra-terrestrial’, the Argentine is most definitely out of this world, and is arguably the greatest footballer to ever play the game.

Kashamu was arrested, tried in UK court – Police

The Police headquarters in Abuja Thursday said it received a letter from the British High Commission stating that Prince (Senator) Buruji Kashamu was indeed arrested and tried in a United Kingdom criminal court.
A statement signed by CP Emmanuel Ojukwu, Force Public Relations officer, said that the UK court was however not satisfied that Prince Kashamu had a case to answer.
“However, for the avoidance of doubt, the British High Commission letter in question did not derogate from the extradition request by the US authority pending with relevant departments and agencies of government in Nigeria” it said.
The statement reads, “The attention of the Nigeria Police Force has been drawn to a publication on page 4 of the Leadership Newspaper of June 18, 2015, concerning the extradition battles of Prince Buruji Kashamu with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
“For the records, the chambers of TRLP Law, acting on behalf of Prince Buruji Kashamu, had on 14th April, 2015 written the Nigeria Police Force concerning the status of Prince Kashamu’s legal battles in the United Kingdom and United States, following which the Nigeria Police sought relevant clarifications from the British High Commission.
“The authority of the British High Commission confirmed on 27th April, 2015, through a letter to the Inspector-General of Police, that Prince Buruji Kashamu was indeed arrested and tried in the United Kingdom criminal court, but that the court was not satisfied that Prince Kashamu had a case to answer.

A 28-year old National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Alims Thomas Iripia has embarked on a laudable project worthy of mention.
Thomas, from Gakem, Bekwarra LGA, Cross River state, on the 27th of May 2015, which was children’s day, came up with an idea he christened “Impact a Child Project – ICP,” after he observed that most of the children in Bogoro local government, Bauchi, the state he was posted to, go to school barefooted.
He launched the project on Facebook about 7pm that day with his first post pleading with his friends on the social network to help me raise 100 pairs of sandals for the children.
Thomas target for the project was 100 pairs of sandals to be distributed among 5 public primary schools in the local government, with each school getting 20 pairs.
But his target was surpa$$ed so fast as donations started trickling in fast from different states in Nigeria and beyond. In less than 2 weeks, Thomas had already gotten 180 pairs of sandals ready for distribution.
Each sandals cost N350 each and many people donated more than one pair. Two persons- Mr. Ray Ugba Morphy from Ogoja, Cross River State and Hon. Bola Ilori from Ondo State gave Thomas 100 pairs each. Mrs. Akintoye Adeola from London gave him 50 pairs.
As the time of writing this report, Thomas had gotten 360 pairs of sandals with support coming from even people he did not know personally as many of his Facebook friends had gone ahead to share his post on their walls and canva$$ing support for the project.
Thomas who was the best graduating student in the Department of Public Relations, Fidei Polytechnic, Gboko Benue State in 2012, belongs to Batch B 2014, Stream 2 and he was posted to Bauchi State with Batch Number- BA/14B/2355. Melaye floors Adeyemi at tribunal

Mr Dino Melaye
The National and State Legislative House Election tribunal sitting in Lokoja, the Kogi  State capital, on Thursday dismissed the petition of  the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Smart Adeyemi, against the election victory of his All Progressives Congress opponent, Mr. Dino Melaye.
The National Independent Electoral Commission had declared Melaye the winner of the March 28, 2015 Senatorial election.
Adeyemi, being dissatisfied with INEC’s announcement of Melaye’s victory, headed for the  tribunal.
The  Chairman of the three-member tribunal panel, Justice Akon Ikpeme, in a ruling on Thursday, on a motion filed by Melaye’s counsel, Mr. Rickey Tarfa (SAN), held that the  petition was incompetent and abandoned.
According to the chairman, the petitioner ran foul of the Electoral Act in filing their reply to the 1st respondent’s response out of time saying that they were served on 13th May and could only file their reply on May 18.
Ikpeme also held that for failing to apply for Form TF001 for pre-hearing session within the stipulated seven days, the tribunal was of the view that the petitioner had failed to apply for the issuance of the form.
She stated that pursuant of other issues relating to the petition could only amount to “mere academic exercise.”
She therefore dismissed the petition for incompetence and abandonment on the part of the petitioners.

MTN Splashes Millions On Brand Ambassadors

MTN Splashes Millions On Brand Ambassadors
In line with its commitment to enhancing the lives of Nigerian musicians by providing platforms through which they can get lucrative value for their intellectual properties, leading ICT Company, MTN will spend millions on its brand ambassadors in the next one year.
MTN’s GM, Consumer Marketing, Richard Iweanoge, made the announcement on Thursday while also unveiling Cobhams Asuquo, as the latest addition to MTN’s brand ambassadors. He would be joining Davido, Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Dr. Sid, Sound Sultan, Iyanya, Chidinma, Banky W, KCee as well as Saka, Osuofia, Mama Gee and others who all renewed their contracts with MTN.
As was originally conceptualized, the ambassadorship will continually evolve to accommodate new talents and cater for diverse segments. This year, we are using a segmented approach and there will be ambassadors for each segment of our market. Using this criteria, new artistes like Cobhams Asuquo will be coming on board the MTN Ambassadorial family.
However, for 2015, artistes like Timaya, Wizkid, sean Tizzle and a few others will no longer be ambassadors for the brand even though the relationship continues in other areas in which MTN enables artists to monetise their work.
‘’Although there is a finite number of brand ambassadors we can have at any point in time, Nigerian Artistes can continue to monetize their intellectual works through our distribution channels such as the Caller Tunez and Music Plus platforms.” he said
“With billions invested so far in Nigeria’s music industry, MTN remains one of the biggest supporters of the music industry. We have a track record of consistently providing the stage for some of Nigeria’s biggest artistes to shine and express themselves. For MTN, we see the growth of the music industry as a continuum and not a destination. That is why we will continue to engage and support our local artistes so that they can find full expression for their talents.”
According to him, “When we talk of our ambassadors, we have amongst them Iyanya, Praiz and Chidinma, three past participants in the Project Fame. MTN not only gave them the platform to express their talents through the music reality TV show, but we have consistently supported them over the years by making them our ambassadors. We can safely say that our investments in them have paid off because now they are counted among Nigeria’s biggest music acts and we are truly proud of them.”
Going further, Iweanoge said that while the Brand Ambassadorial platform remains a crucial part of MTN’s contribution to the music industry, the company also makes significant contribution to the industry via its music related Value Added Services.
“For instance, through our Caller Ring Back Tunez (CRBT), MTN has become the largest music distributor in Africa. Through the platform, we rescued Nigerian musicians from the scourge of piracy. They are able to make good money as a result of their hard work. Also, as Nigeria’s most innovative telecoms company, we have been able to deploy music as a platform to give other value added services to our teeming subscribers, which have also proven to be a significant source of revenue for the artistes like MTN Music+ app and a host of other platforms.”
